Why take a course?

Diving on wrecks has always stimulated the imagination of many divers. Searching for secrets, treasures, ships lost in wars and storms or a  pursuit of history are just a few of the reasons why people decide to become wreck divers. Specific diving skills, use of specialized tools, new planning methods, as well as knowledge of procedures and logistics related to diving at sea are not only useful but also valuable and will allow you to develop. The IDF Wreck Diver course is an excellent opportunity to discover a completely new dimension of underwater adventure.

What will you learn?

During the theoretical classes you will learn how to predict the weather by carefully watching surrounding, you will also learn how ships are built, which will make it easier for you to learn how to navigate on their decks later. We also want you to be fully prepared for diving at a sea from a diving boat. All dives will take place in sea or ocean, on real wrecks. During these dives you will practise using the reel and Jersey Reel for emergency ascend in difficult conditions, methods of  cutting out from the nets and all rescue procedures that will ensure your safety in case of various problems.

  • Minimum age: 16 years
  • Sufficient swimming ability
  • Health condition to participate in the course
  • IDF Advanced Open Water Diver certificate or equivalent

What will you be entitled to after the course?

Upon completion of the IDF Wreck Diver course you will be entitled to dive on wrecks, including daylight zone penetration, of course within the limits of your current depth and decompression qualifications.

IDF Certificate

Upon completion of the training, you will receive an internationally recognised certificate confirming your qualifications. It is a plastic card with a unique number and watermark. In addition, you will have lifelong access to an individual panel on the IDF website, where your certificate will always be available in electronic form - in case you ever forget to take the original with you for diving.

What next?

The IDF Wreck Diver course is an excellent introduction to the lifelong adventure that wreck diving can become. The next stage of learning wreck diving is the IDF Advanced Wreck Diver – a course that focuses on methods of planning expeditions and searching for new units, as well as – from a practical point of view – on methods of safe planning and execution of difficult wreck penetration dives.
