Why should you take part in the IDF Junior Open Water Diver course?
Learning to dive is a wonderful opportunity available to children aged 10 and above. Diving teaches responsibility, respect for the marine world and the powerful element that is water, it develops psychomotor skills and facilitates friendship. IDF Junior Open Water Diver is a course for children who have previously completed Scuba Scout training, as well as those who have no previous experience with diving. This level also allows diving in a buddy system with a parent or legal guardian who has at least an IDF Rescue Diver certification.
What does the course look like?
The course is divided into three parts, which complement each other and gradually build the knowledge and skills necessary for diving.
- By reading the manual and participating in theory lectures, your child will learn, among other things, how being underwater and breathing compressed air affects the body, how to use diving equipment and what you can do to plan and perform your dives safely.
- In confined waters (or simply in a swimming pool), in safe, comfortable and controlled conditions, they will acquire skills that will be useful later when diving in open water.
- Open water diving will be the crowning achievement of all previous classes. Your child will have the opportunity to dive, using the skills they have acquired in real conditions, diving under the supervision of an instructor to a depth of 12 metres.
