Why take a course?

Using more than two side cylinders in a side mount configuration requires practice and exercise. The more additional elements appear underwater, the more effort should be made to make sure that all of them are aligned, matched to each other and do not in any way hinder the diver's own functioning. Sidemount divers have to face some difficulties when the performed dives required them to take additional cylinders, such as decompression gases used during technical dives. During the IDF Advanced Side Mount Diver training, you will master the necessary skills and develop a careful configuration under the watchful eye of your IDF Instructor.

What will you learn?

The IDF Advanced Sidemount Diver course focuses on very intensive underwater exercises. During your training dives you will master the use of a sidemount configuration with up to three additional  cylinders. In such a set you will practice uncliping side cylinders, deploying them, retrieving them and passing them on to your partner. You will also learn how to deal with failures associated with the upper and lower cylinder clips.

In accordance with the IDF motto “Safety First!” you will also have the opportunity to practice and refine your rescue skills and techniques, including towing underwater and bringing an unconscious diver up to the surface. The skills acquired in the IDF Advanced Side Side Mount Diver course will allow you to train later up to Full Trimix level.
