Why take a course?

After many open-circuit dives, you're already used to the noise of exhaled air that accompanies every breath. The stories of the world of great silence, as Jacques Cousteau used to say, very rarely mention that it is very difficult to escape from this noise. Freedivers can enjoy the silence, but they are affected by completely different constraints. But is it possible to dive without the noise? The solution is to use closed circuits, in which the whole respiratory mixture circulates in a loop and is enriched with life-giving oxygen, which we consume during our dive. However, silence is not the only advantage of closed-circuit rebreathers, because we can also include an optimal gas mixture throughout the entire dive, and thus - significantly optimized decompression. Try a closed circuit dive and taste a completely different dive than before!

What will you learn?

While the principle of each rebreather is very similar, the specific models of rebreathers differ in design. During intensive training including both theoretical and practical activities, you will learn how to operate a particular rebreather construction and be licensed to use it.

What do you need to start?

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Sufficient swimming ability
  • Health condition to participate in the course
  • IDF Advanced Nitrox Diver certificate or equivalent
  • IDF Advanced Side Mount Diver Certificate (if the course takes place on a side mount rebreather).
  • Minimum 100 open-circuit logged dives, including at least 20 dives deeper than 30 meters

What is the course?

Number of dives
Number of dives
1 dive in a pool or pool-like waters of not less than 60 minutes and 7 dives in open waters of not less than 420 minutes in total
Depth range
Depth range
At least 2 dives must take place in depths between 35-40 metres
Theoretical classes
Theoretical classes
Lectures using training presentations and IDF audiovisual materials
Examination
Examination
Online test filled in electronically after logging into the student's panel

What will you be entitled to after the course?

Upon completion of the IDF CCR Diver training, you will be authorized to perform rebreather decompression dives to a depth of 40 meters using the rebreather model on which the training took place.

IDF Certificate

Upon completion of the training, you will receive an internationally recognised certificate confirming your qualifications. It is a plastic card with a unique number and watermark. In addition, you will have lifelong access to an individual panel on the IDF website, where your certificate will always be available in electronic form - in case you ever forget to take the original with you for diving.
